Out of This World by RobertoBertero Out of This World by RobertoBertero

Slightly long exposure taken after sunset on July 11th 2012, from the summit of Mont Thabor (3,178 m), Vallée Étroite, Hautes-Alpes, France.

Quick freezing high winds seemed determined to wipe out the nearby mountain, the Pic du Thabor (3,203 m), already shrouded in darkness.

The Pic du Thabor and Mont Thabor are two different distinct mountains, right adjacent to each other.

Looking again and again to your gallery, I think you should (maybe you already did) prepare a book. A book with shots anecdotes from your trips (I'm sure you have many). You have an exceptional set of mountain shot, I would rather say an unique set of night mountain shot which deserve consecration. I'm not kidding or exaggerating saying this, if you do such thing or if you already have done it I'll be the first to buy it from you. I love mountains, I love trekking, I'm dreaming when I'm front of stars, and I would love to have all this in a book because as most of deviants here I'm living in fucking town where we need to escape at least mentally to something exceptional. Something exceptional is really what you're doing. I'm really convinced about it! Anyway again congratulation for your shots, and really thank you for sharing them here !

Well, first of all: thank you very much! this is really very kind of you.
I live in a city too... usually I travel and hike a lot - I mean really a lot - to see the true beauty.

I know how some remote and uncontaminated landscapes can be a "mirage" to those who have never had the privilege to see firsthand the real beauty of this world.
Nevertheless I am forced to consider the reality and the strict logic of the market.
Nowadays everyone wants beautiful things, but most of the time they want it for free.
There are countless people who steal photos, posting them on their own blog, website, whatever, without paying anything to the authors. Countless are also the cases when directors of not too significan magazines blatantly ask if they can publish photos without paying.

So, you see, the idea of the book is certainly a good thing :-), but, as I know, not doable right now.
If any serious publisher (thankfully there are still many!) in the near future would be interested, I will be happy to follow the project.

Thanks again!

Truly ethereal. I love how it's angled downward, and the clouds aren't.
