I took this picture on July 28th 2009 at Lac Blanc, located at 2,352 m (7,716 ft) on the Aiguilles Rouges above Chamonix, France.
The hour was around 6pm... I think the cable car La Flégère is closed around that time, so the number of tourists drastically reduces... I remember that day I've been waiting really a lot before start shooting, and not only for the presence of people, but also because in the early afternoon the mirror reflection was totally absent and the very special design of clouds appeared only in the early evening. But, you know, it's a great stunning place, and really it was a true pleasure that waiting time This area is well known indeed, from here you can admire all the magnificence of the Mont Blanc massif French side!
From left to the right: Aiguille Verte, Drus, Grandes Jorasses (some clouds just passing) Aiguilles of Chamonix, Mont Blanc summit (4.810 m - 15,780) Ah, yes, all doubled thanks to the magic nature's contribution
You are so fortunate to not only have been able to experience this first hand but capture some small portion of it's magnificence in a photograph you could share with us.
